This is God’s world.

Everything around you is owned by Him.

The reality that you exist in right now was created by Him.

And YOU… were created by Him.

And yes, He owns you too… all of you.

He has power and control over the very essence of you.

Sure, you have free will to do as you please,

but He has total power over you, and your life,

that He can exercise at any time.

Sobering?

Yes, as it should be.

Jesus says,

“And I say to you, my friends,

do not be afraid of those who kill the body,

and after that have no more that they can do.

But I will show you whom you should fear:

Fear Him who, after He has killed,

has power to cast into hell;

yes, I say to you, fear Him!

(Luke 12:4-5)

Just like the authorities here on earth

have the power to take you and cast you into prison,

so likewise, does God have the power over you

to cast you into damnation (lake of fire) for eternity,

from which there is no escape, and no hope.

That’s how much power He has.

But this is not His desire for you or ANYONE.

This though, IS His desire:

“For God so loved the world (YOU)

that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whoever believes in Him

should not perish (in hell)

but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“”The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:8-11)

DO NOT TRUST IN RICHES.

DO NOT TRUST IN RICHES.

Instead, put your trust in the One who really owns those riches – GOD.

Put your trust in the One who made those riches…

the One who holds the entire universe together

so that those riches can even exist!

God owns the gold… and the silver…

they are His.

They come from the earth that God has made… and He owns it all.

He made it, and He sustains it, and He can take it away anytime He pleases.

So, trust in the One who created the gold and silver

and the materials unto which money is made.

It all comes from Him, so trust in Him to take care of you… and not your riches.

Go to Him, and not His creation.

And who is this God?

The God of the Scriptures, the Bible.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Holy One of Israel, the great “I AM”.

He is the burning bush in the Old Testament,

and the One who gave the ten commandments.

And He came to this earth as a man to deliver us from His judgment.

His name – Jehoshua, or Jesus; Immanuel: God with us.

    Trials, troubles, and sufferings…

they plow up the soil of our heart.

Then just at the right time, God will drop in a truth, a Bible verse, “The seed” into our heart, so that it will grow, and bear fruit. Perhaps this is a reason God doesn’t always deliver us from a trouble right away. He allows the trouble to plow us up so that the words He gives us will be planted deep. So take some comfort in troubles knowing that the Master Farmer is doing a good work within the soil of your heart, and that it will benefit you and His kingdom in the long run.

"For this reason he was hired, that I should be afraid and act that way and sin, so that they might have cause for an evil report, that they might reproach me."
Nehemiah 6:13

We as Christians need to be so careful when it comes to taking in advice, suggestions, or ideas. We need to think ahead to where those things lead, we need to look down the road and see what the final outcome is of those things if they are carried out. If somebody gives me a suggestion to do something, I need to stop and think as to whether or not this something might lead me into some kind of sin, because if it does, I should not go down that path. If I do, I will not only hurt myself, but hinder the Gospel too. For every Christian that acts in unchristian-like ways, it just gives Jesus a bad reputation. We are called to represent Christ, we are ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), and our lives should reflect that, otherwise we can turn people away from Christ, which is not good! So let us all be very careful and analyze before we act, and make sure what we are going to do will not lead us into some kind of sin that will cause the world to have an evil report against GOD and cause reproach to come upon us.
