HEALTH TIPS

Taking care of God's temple - Your body.

Come back often. I'll be adding more and

more stuff to this page as time goes on.

SOME VERY BASIC GUIDELINES:

Note: Many things claim to be "all natural" and are not.

So make sure to do your homework.

"The human body consists of billions of microscopic living cells, composed

of perfectly, balanced quantities of water and organic substances. If you have

eaten the standard North American Diet for years, without serious harm to your

health, it is due to your body's outstanding resistance. Yet genetic weaknesses

may be hidden by youth. The cumulative effect of toxins will increase the risk of

becoming a host to disease or premature death. Unfortunately, resistance to

disease diminishes as the abuse continues. Disease is like heating a pot of water.

When the water becomes too hot, it quickly boils over. The biochemistry of the

body will absorb toxins only to a point. There is a boiling point—illness!"

"We live like no other generation before us. A giant experiment of toxic ingestion.

In this game, the stakes are high, it can cost your life. We may consider our way

of eating as normal, but the modern diet is about as normal as a test tube of

chemicals. The body’s chemistry is recreated by ingesting countless food additives

and environmental contaminants."

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BODY

- Foods that don't agree with you can cause a variety of symptoms.

Anything from nervousness, irritability, spacy-ness, anxiety,

    indigestion, bloating, gas, nausea, etc.

- What goes on in your gut has a direct impact on your mental health.

Your entire body is one unit. If one part is affected, all parts are

    affected to some degree.

AVIODING CHEMICALS

- As a general rule. Avoid anything with chemicals, as much as possible.

Chemicals accumulate in your body and cause all sorts of damage.

Chemicals in food, perfumes, dyes, cosmetics, drinks, etc.

Preservatives and Additives - A must read primer!

The Aspartame Scandal by Betty Martini

YOUR SKIN

- Your skin is an organ. It has pores and it absorbs whatever you put on it.

Whatever is in the ingredients, is going into you. Be careful.

COSMETICS

- Your body absorbs whatever you put on it, chemicals and all.

- Try to use only natural stuff, stuff that wouldn't harm you if you ate it.

- Sunscreen- Use only a natural sunscreen. Commercial sunscreens contain tons of chemicals.

- Aubrey has a great line of good shampoos and cosmetics.

Women's skin soaks up 5lb of beauty products each year . . but are some a health risk?

DEODERANT

- Use plain old Baking Soda. It works great.

If you don't like that, find an all natural

    deoderant.

- Don't use anti-persperants. They clog your pores and cause problems.

COLOGNE and PERFUME

- Find some essential oils you like.

All commercial colognes and perfumes are loaded with synthetic chemicals,

which get absorbed into your body.

TOOTHPASTE and dental

- Use only an all natural toothpaste, without fluoride.

- You won't find a natural toothpaste in your local commercial grocery store.

Try a natural food store. See "Links" at the bottom of this article to find a store near you.

- Brush and floss daily. Save yourself time, money, and pain. It only takes a few minutes.

SOAP

- Avoid soap with chemicals and perfumes.

- Do not use anti-bacterial soap. It kills the good bacteria

on your hands, which help to protect you.

SHAMPOO

- Use only all natural. Aubrey has a great line of good shampoos and cosmetics.

LAUNDRY

- Avoid perfumes.

- Don't use dryer sheets. These are full of synthetic chemicals that get into your clothes

and into you through your skin.

FOOD - Eating tips.

- Always, always, pray over your food and give thanks to GOD.

- You are what you eat.

- Read food labels.

Avoid food labels with long lists of chemical ingredients.

- Aviod refined, highly processed foods.

- Avoid fast food.

- Do not drink sodas. They will destroy you.

- Avoid sugar and *refined carbohydrates.

- Eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables.

- Do not over eat.

- Relax and eat slowly. Letting the food mix with your saliva helps to break the food down

and helps you to absorb vital nutrients. It also improves digestion. Your body will thank you.

- Do not use Microwaves. They destroy nutrients in your food.

- Avoid eating too many canned foods.

- When you start eating better and begin to incorperate more raw vegatables into your diet,

the change may not agree with your body too well. This is because your body is chemically

used to your old ways of eating. Though after some time of eating better, you will change

your body chemistry and those raw foods will agree with you more. Always start off slow in

making big changes to your diet.

Note: The more you cook a food, the more you destroy it's valuable nutrients - enzymes, vitamens, minerals, etc.

        Dehydrators

*Refined carbohydrates.

These spike your blood sugar. Cereals, muffins, cakes,

chips, granola bars, cookies, etc.

SUGAR

Avoid sugar. White sugar, brown sugar, NutraSweet, etc.

- It pulls calcium out of your body - bones and teeth.

- It lowers your immune System.

- It causes Diabetes.

- It contributes to cavities.

- DO NOT DRINK SODAS.

- Fruit and honey are ok. Try to buy raw, unheated honey.

It has all it's enzymes, vitamens, and minerals intact.

Also, eat fruit/honey with something that burns slower, like raw nuts,

or some type of natural nut butter. It will keep your blood sugar more stable.

- If your diabetic, use Stevia. It's an herb you can use as a sweetener that

won't raise your blood sugar at all.

Sugar by George E. Meinig, DDS, FACD

SALT

- Do not use commercial salt.

Go to a health food store and buy quality sea salt.

        Celtic Sea Salt

MEAT

- Buy organic free range meat whenever possible.

Commercial meat has high concentrations of pesticides, hormones, antibiotics,

    and other chemicals and undesirables.

- Do not overcook and burn meat.

- Avoid processed meats, they contain sodium nitrate, a potential cancer

    causing substance.

DAIRY

- Buy raw and organic if possible.

    Otherwise, keep it limited.

- Commercial milk is a destroyed food. Through hydrogenation and pasteurization,

vitamens, minerals, and enzymes are destroyed.

- Do not eat margarine.  Or any other butter substitute. Unsalted, organic butter

    is best.

WHOLE GRAINS

- Try to cook up whole grains and incorperate them into your diet. Try to buy organic.

Whole grains like: Brown rice, wheat, barley, quinoa, oats, kamut, wheat berries, etc.

They take a lot longer for your body to burn which helps keep your blood sugar stable.

They are also highly nutritious. Don't eat much white rice. It has little nutrition and burns

    quickly raising your blood sugar.

Quinoa: Mother Grain of the Incas by George E. Meinig, DDS, FACD

FRUITS

- Buy organic and eat raw whenever possible.

- Try to eat fruit with nuts or with something that burns slower.

Eating fruit by itself as a snack will spike your blood sugar.

- Dried fruit: If you eat a lot of dried fruit, drink lots of water.

Dried fruit rehydrates in your body pulling out water

    and will give you indigestion/gas.

VEGETABLES

- Try to buy organic.

- Eat raw mostly if you can. Cook potatoes, rudabegas. Lightly steam brocolli.

- Do not overcook vegetables.

The more you cook them, the more you destroy the good nutrients.

NUTS

- Eat raw whenever possible.

    Try to buy organic.

- Avoid roasted nuts. They contain rancid oils.

- Avoid raw peanuts.

- Raw nuts contain good fats. Do not be afriad of them.

OILS

- Take fish oils regularly.

- Bad oils are cottonseed oil, any partially hydrogenated oil, vegatable oil.

- Good oils are olive oil, sunflower oil, sesame seed oil, coconut oil, safflower oil.

WATER

- Drink plenty of water!

- Avoid chlorinated water. It kills the friendly bacterial in your gut.

Soft Drinks by George E. Meinig, DDS, FACD

Caffeine by George E. Meinig, DDS, FACD

PROBIOTICS - Friendly bacteria for your gut.

-Start taking a probiotic. Most everyone needs it.

It helps with all sorts of things.

AIR FRESHNERS and other artifically scented stuff

- Do not use these!

They smell good, sure, but what your smelling is synthetic.

Your body is not able to process synthetic chemicals very well.

They accumulate in your body and cause problems.

- If the restroom smells, light a match or an unscented candle.

What smells up the restroom is methane gas.

Methane gas is highly flamable, so lighting a match

and waving it around for a minute works well.

EXERCISE

- Obviously very important.

At least 30 minutes a day of something.
